3 Jawan Martyred in IED Blast in Kanker, Chattisgarh

Three soldiers were martyred and one was seriously injured in an IED blast at the Kanker-Narayanpur border in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

The force was out on a search operation in the Koroskoda forest on Saturday morning. While disposing of an IED planted by Naxalites, a powerful explosion suddenly occurred.

The incident occurred in the Chhotebethiya police station area. It is being reported that the blast was so powerful that the soldiers present at the scene did not even have a chance to recover.

Injured soldiers were rescued immediately but due to serious injury, three soldiers martyred on the spot. Injured soldier Parmanand Komra has been sent to Kanker for better treatment.

These DRG soldiers were martyred:

  • Sukhram Vatti (Inspector)
  • Krishna Komra (Constable)
  • Sanjay Gadpale (Constable)

Bastar IG said – the campaign was going on based on information

Bastar Range IG Sundarraj P. confirmed the incident. He stated that, based on inputs received from surrendered Naxalites, a continuous campaign to recover IEDs has been underway for the past few months.

Hundreds of IEDs have been defused so far, but this unfortunate incident occurred today while defusing an IED.
